Legal
Last updated October 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of this SplitASeat site (“SplitASeat”, “we”). By creating an account or taking a seat in a pool you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
SplitASeat groups people into pools that share one subscription account with a third-party provider. SplitASeat registers and owns each shared account, keeps its password and two-factor secret in an encrypted vault, and gives each paying member access to the account for as long as their seat is active. SplitASeat is not the provider, does not resell the provider's service and does not control what the provider does with the account.
A seat gives you a licence to use the shared account while your seat is active. It does not give you ownership of the account, its email address, its profiles or any content, and it ends when your seat ends. SplitASeat may change the account password, email or two-factor settings at any time, and will do so whenever a member leaves or a security alert is received.
Pool sizes follow the provider's stream and device limits as we understand them. We can't guarantee that a given number of people can use the account at the same time; the provider decides that.
You agree to these rules every time you take a seat. They are shown on every join page.
You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancelling stops the next renewal. Refunds follow these rules:
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through Stripe. We don't refund time you couldn't use the account because of the provider's outages, regional restrictions or device limits.
SplitASeat is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any provider listed on this site. Provider names and marks belong to their owners.
Sharing an account among people who don't live together may be against a provider's terms of service. By joining a pool you accept that risk: the provider may restrict, suspend or close the shared account, ask for household verification or change its plan. If a pool can't continue, we close it and refund the unused part of the current month as set out above. We are not responsible for a provider's decisions, outages or content.
Every reveal of the password, every generated code and every inbox view is logged and visible to the pool. If you break the pool rules — in particular by changing the password, email or two-factor settings — we may remove you from the pool without a refund, ban your account from all pools, and freeze the pool while we recover the account. A chargeback or payment dispute removes you from all pools and closes your account. We may also freeze or close any pool for security reasons at any time.
The privacy policy explains what we store and for how long. One point matters enough to repeat here: login codes from the pool mailbox and the pool activity log are shared with the other members of the pool (by seat number) and with SplitASeat staff.
The service is provided as is. We don't promise that a shared account will keep working, that a provider will tolerate sharing, or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, SplitASeat's total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid SplitASeat in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Template note: the paragraph above is a placeholder. Limitation and consumer-protection rules differ by country and state; a lawyer must adapt this section before launch.
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on this page with a new “last updated” date and, where we have your email, by email. Continuing to hold a seat after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, cancel your seats before the change takes effect.
Questions about these terms go to support@splitaseat.com.
