Legal
Last updated October 2026.
This policy describes what the operator of this SplitASeat site (“SplitASeat”, “we”) stores about you, why, and for how long. It is written to match how the product actually works; where it needs a legal entity, address or jurisdiction-specific wording, that is flagged as a template note.
The operator of this site is the data controller. Contact: support@splitaseat.com.
Template note: add the operator's legal name, address and, where required, a data-protection contact.
Mail sent by the provider to the shared account's address is stored per pool: sender, subject, text and sanitised HTML, authentication results and, when the sender is verified, any extracted code. This is mail about the shared account, not about you personally — but anything you cause the provider to send (for example a verification code for a sign-in you started) ends up there.
Two things are visible beyond you, and you should know that before you join:
Other members never see your name, email address or payment details. Staff do, because they handle support, billing problems and account recovery.
We don't sell your data, run advertising or use third-party analytics on this site.
Template note: confirm the processor list for your deployment and add the legal basis and any international-transfer wording your jurisdiction requires.
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Pool mail (all categories) | 30 days, then deleted |
| Bodies of code, password-reset and security-alert mail | 24 hours, then blanked (the sender, subject and category stay until the message is deleted) |
| IP address and user-agent on activity-log entries | 90 days, then blanked; the entry itself is kept |
| Raw Stripe webhook payloads | 30 days, then blanked |
| Account, seats, payments, tickets, activity log | Until you delete your account, subject to the note below |
When you delete your account we cancel any remaining subscriptions, replace your email and name with placeholders and remove the sign-in. Payment records and activity entries stay in anonymised form because other members' pools, refunds and dispute handling depend on them, and because tax and payment rules require invoices to be kept.
Template note: state the statutory retention period for invoices in your jurisdiction.
We set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your light/dark theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
We'll update this page when the product changes what it stores. Material changes get a new “last updated” date and, where we have your email, a notice by email. The terms of service cover the rest of our agreement.
